Parallel Histories is excited to announce our second film competition. This time, we want live debates:
“This house believes that a One State outcome would be better for both Israelis and Palestinians”
The winner and runners up will receive cash prizes and we will showcase your entry online.
Don’t worry about equipment; if you have a smartphone, you have the tools to win this thing. Happy filming!
Film your debate using a smartphone or tablet and edit it to no more than 3 minutes.

The debate must involve at least 2 people per side, and present both sides of the argument.
Submissions will be accepted until June 30th, with the winners announced by July 15th.
The winning team will receive £150, and three runners up will receive £75 each.
Entry is not age restricted.
Sustained arguments supported by by well-chosen evidence.
Precise definition of terms like ‘One State’.
Evidence of listening to and responding to the other side.
Creativity and humour.
Filming, editing and production skills

you could use, both for and against, but please feel free to develop your own.
Past experience suggests that the best approach is to film your debate live, and then edit it down to 3 minutes, rather than write a three minutes script.
